The German hiking association awards distinctions for "Quality-Checked Hiking Accommodation in Germany" checking hosts throughout Germany.
The partners cooperate ensuring only especially hiker-friendly accommodations and businesses are given a quality seal of approval.
This honour was awarded to us here at the Wimmerhof with your host Paul, who takes guests on delightful hikes in the Chiemgau region.
A safe environment for children is very important during any farm stay holiday. We want to guarantee a fun learning experience for children, where they can explore nature, play, and meet our animals in a care-free environment. The term "Distinguished Farmhouse" was only awarded to the Wimmerhof farmhouse after it underwent extensive testing by the association and had to enforce work- and health-safety regulations.
The German farming association awards the Farm Stay Accommodation the Year award each year. All farms which are members of the association can compete to win this distinction. A committee decides on the finalist, which are then all checked on location. A jury later decides on the 10 best farm stays, and in 2014 and 2018 the Wimmerhof was honoured with this prestigious award. All of us at the Wimmerhof are very proud of this distinction!
