Our Wimmerhof
Our Working Farm
We manage our farm, which was first recorded as early as 1420, as a grassland operation with livestock breeding.
We are currently working on a new stable to ensure our cattle, approximately 50 German Fleckenvieh, have plenty of space to live at the Wimmerhof. The stables will be finished by August.
Additionally, we are looking forward to a new horse stables & chicken coop.
Our guests are welcome to watch or even help out with the daily chores on the farm and the stables. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about our work, our products or on any aspects of farming.
Our large animal enclosure is bustling with miniature goats, geese, ducks, rabbits and the smallest breed of sheep in the world, the Ouessant sheep. Our two ponies, Peggy and Sindy, graze in the next field.
In summer, we harvest all the food we need for our animals in winter. The silage or haymaking starts at the beginning of May and ends in mid-October when we harvest the maize.
