Chiemgau Alps – Paradise for Runners, Hikers & Nature Lovers

Get ready for your adventure in the stunning nature of the Chiemgau and Inntal Alps. The alpine foothills offer a unique landscape where rolling hills and beautiful lakes meet majestic alpine peaks such as the Kampenwand and Wendelstein mountains, which offer spectacular views of the picturesque Chiemsee and neighbouring Tyrol. The Chiemgau region is the ideal holiday destination for hikers, runners, Nordic walkers, and nature enthusiasts with many first-class hiking trails.

 

Armed with a good pair of walking boots, a hiking map in your pocket and a hearty snack in your rucksack, you set out at the crack of dawn to conquer the peak. The Geigelstein Nature Reserve, along the geological and botanical trail on the Hochfelln peak near Bergen, on the "Boundless" hiking trail between Tyrol and Bad Endorf, on a hike to the hammer mill beneath Raiten near Schleching, on a hike to the Maxhütte museum in Bergen, on the alpine educational trail on the Rauschberg or on one of the many other hiking trails in the Chiemgau Alps.

 

Conquer the challenging Kampenwand, the Hochries or the Wendelstein mountains. With a total of six mountain cable cars, hikers can start their adventures at an elevated position ensuring glorious views.


Hiking maps and detailed information on hikes and guided tours are always readily available to guests here at the Wimmerhof. A keen hiker himself, your host Paul is happy to take you along on a hike to Paul's favourite destinations.
